From applying for the loan, to actually closing the official deal. Let’s assume you find the house you want almost immediately and are only worried about the mortgage loan process and signing the final papers.

mine took around a month, that was a rural housing loan and those take less time, i think most other ones take longer, really it all depends on how many hurdles you have to jump and if you have a good team on your side

Here in California, if your credit is sufficiently good and you have a sufficient down payment (10% or so), you can easily be closed in 30 days or less.

I currently have clients in escrow and the entire process is going to occur in less than two weeks, although that is REALLY pushing it.

      30 days.

I have had several transactions close flawlessly in 30 days.

It can take one month, it can take six months. It depends on many factors, such as the state where the property is, some states require attornies handling purchases, and then the seller has an attorney, then include the realtor and mortgage company and you can see just how many hands are in the pot. The house also has to be appraised and inspected and sometimes surveyed. The best thing you can go is be polite, get whatever documents are requested to the correct entity and be firm when necessary. Also, if there is a family attorney that can handle the real estate portion for you, that will help, the more connections you have in the process fighting for you the better
